As a Cane Rail Labourer, you will be part of a close-knit rail team, taking on hands-on tasks like track, bridge and civil construction, performing essential earthworks, laying track and operating maintenance equipment.
Initially based at Victoria Mill, Ingham offers a laid-back lifestyle, with stunning island beaches and exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep. Whether you're into fishing and boating, hiking, or just chilling by the beach, the Herbert Region has it all waiting for you.
This is a permanent position with our Civil team, which requires shift work during the crushing season (June - December), including weekends and overtime and day work during the maintenance period (Jan - May).
Your Role in Action
Inspection and Repairs - Repairs to track, track equipment, mobile plant and more!
Maintenance - Maintain a high standard of track condition and maintenance.
Derailment Response - Quality track repairs post derailment.
Your Winning Combination
To be considered for this position, you must have or be willing to obtain a MR or HR licence.
Desirable tickets - training provided to the right candidate:
- Experience operating a packer and/or tamper
- Dogging HRWL
- Working at Heights
- Front-End Loader Operation
- Non Slew Crane HRWL
